Basic summary of our pitch:
Film Title: Baron Samedi.
Genre: Horror
Target Age: We will aim our film at the ages 18-25 due to the graphic nature of the film.
Story-line outline: It's halloween and a group of college students are going to a party. They want to liven things up by bringing a ouja board, they go to a small new-age store, but they don't sell any. They pick up an ancient book of voudo rituals and spells instead. They take it to the party, where they perform a ritual as a joke. Cross cutting into the spirit realm, the Loa of the dead, Baron Samedi, is also performing a ritual. Their wires get crossed, and Baron Samedi begins to torment the college students, and lure them away from the party one by one, by possessing them.
Characters: two female college students aged 18, two male college students aged 18 and Baron Samedi, Loa of the Dead.
To prepare our pitch for our class, we had originally planned to create our presentation using Microsoft Powerpoint, however we did not have access to this, so we improvised we created a presentation using windows movie maker. Our presentation started off with introducing both myself, and my partner, Georgia Stacey. We stated the name of the film we would be pitching, the genre- which was Horror, and our target audience age, which we decided should be 18-25 due to the graphic nature of the film. We then went on to explain the outlines of our story line to our film, and the characters within it. We explained our aims in detail, and then explained who we wished to have involved with out film.
For example some of ur dream crew would be -
- Actor- Johnny Depp- due to his vast amount of experience in horror films.
- Actress- Helena Bonham Carter- due to her vast amount of experience in horror films.
- Director- Tim Burton- due to his unique style, and vast amount of experience working in the horror genre.
